Evening all! It's just about to hit midnight here and after way too many coffees, I am still wide awake and bored! Perfect opportunity for a blog post I say! I was lucky enough to have my layout chosen as the winner of the Get Picky January inspiration challenge and as such, I get to be a guest designer this month...YAY! So I will let you in on a little secret, I am SO not a multi-photo scrapper. I just don't seem to be able to get my head around anymore than two photos at the most. So with the challenge this month being a holiday theme + the use of 4 or more photos, it was a long haul I can tell you. After almost 3 full days of shuffling paper around and around and around, ruining several collections of paper, a panic stricken conversation with a scrappy friend, I FINALLY came up with this layout. And I am so glad I did it, I think pushing yourself out of comfort zone every once in a while is good for you. So it's not going to make my 2012 favorite layouts list but I did it!

Oh my I have been a bad blogger haven't I! It feels like ages since I have posted anything and have gotten really behind in checking out everyone's work. I have in fact been very busy creating, just none of it I can reveal right now. I was determined however to get at least one more challenge in before the end of the month, so I spent my Australia Day creating for the fabulous sketch challenge at Creative Sketches. I have used October Afternoon's Sidewalks collection for this one. You wouldn't know just how much I love OA by my work, as it is one of those ranges I have admired from a distance. The uber cool retro feel and kitch motifs tends to lend itself to very a clean and simple style (which for the most part isn't me). However after tackling quite a few 'out of my comfort zone' projects of late, I thought I would keep the normally 'too hard basket' rolling and try to incorporate it to my style of scrapping. Not sure if I pulled it off but it certainly was fun trying!
And in case you are wondering who this somewhat androgynous looking little girl is with the bugs bunny grin...it's me when I was two! TFL xox

Wow this month is going so quickly already! Time for another awesome challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. So as well as using one of Nadia's fabulous sketches the journalling criteria for this challenge is...
New beginnings, upcoming adventures but also saying goodbye to yet another year.. Are you glad 2011 is over? Are you looking forward to starting fresh in 2012? What are your goals or resolutions for the year ahead? What are you most looking forward to? Or maybe you can journal about your thoughts for the new year.
Things that you can journal about: a new job, house, baby or new scrapping adventures or Design Teams. Are you taking time off work? Are you planning a holiday somewhere? Maybe your children are starting school or you are getting a new pet. Or you could tell us why you are glad 2011 is over or why you will miss it. Anything goes really!
And here is my take on this months challenge...
And here is Nadia's gorgeous sketch...
And up for grabs.......
The winner of this challenge, as voted by the Design Team, will win 60 days access at the Extra Credit level at $30 value at Miss Arts's Papercrafting School which includes a class by Lisa Valentine called Sweet treats. Lisa will teach you how to leave an impression in the hearts of your loved ones as you whip up a multi-dimensional layout and card from scratch. In 10 easy to follow videos, Lisa instructs students in the use of stencils with molding paste, fussy cutting layers, stamping transparencies to make butterfly embellishments, crafting leaves and adding custom pearls to layouts. Lasting Impressions begins baking up delectable dimension on 1/1/12.
Here is a sneak of the class..
We have 2 prizes for 2 RANDOMLY chosen people
A chipboard pack from Imaginarium Designs.
2 paper collection from FeatureArt.
While I am here, I am sure most of you already follow Nadia's blog and may have already seen this layout but I wanted to share here too as this is one of the most gorgeous gifts I have ever received. A beautiful layout sent to me by Nadia, an amazing person, beautiful friend and very talented scrapper. She is someone who makes you want to be a better person just by knowing her and makes you smile no matter how you are feeling! A one in a million person!
Pretty amazing isn't it!! Well off to do some housework *sigh*. Hope everyone has a fabulous week! TFL xox

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! It's a gorgeous sunny day here is Tassie (which is rare!). The boat ramp is buzzing near our house, DH has headed off to the beach and I am having a lazy day around the house so I thought I would get a quick blog post in. I am joining in at Anna's Craft Cupboard this month for their sketch challenge. I never seem to have much luck when it comes to random draws (actually none!) but it's fun entering just the same and am trying to work on using up my scraps instead of buying whole new collections all the time. This has been created using Prima's Printery range.

I've been a bit slack with entering challenges lately so I decided to get motivated on the weekend and join in at C'est Magnifique Kit Club this month for their sketch challenge. In light of the new year, I have based my layout on my 2012 personal growth resolution. In the famous words of aging rocker Axl Rose, "Just A Little Patience!" Something I would really like to work on!
And this is the sketch, created by my good friend and uber talented scrapper, Nadia Cannizzo.

Well what a week! Thank God New Year's is over! We live not too far away from the Fall's Festival that is held every New Year and things get rather insane around here. I have loved having my step kids back home for the holidays but the hoard of friends they come with wanting to be fed and showered after 3 days of drinking and sleeping in the dirt was a bit of a shock to the system. It all got a bit much for me and in fear of having a complete nervous breakdown I made a quick exit to my parents house and left my DH to deal with it all! Now all gone and the house clean again, it has been so nice to have peace and quiet and some time to sit down and scrap. Whew! So I have decided to join in at Get Picky this month for their inspiration challenge which is all about New Year ( go figure lol). This year is going to be an interesting one for us. I am now on the hunt for a new job and hubbie may be soon too. Lots of changes happening and I really feel like this year will be a new beginning of something!
