Hi all =) I hope everyone out in blogland is doing well and if your in Australia, lapping up some of summer sunshine that we have been having.
Life has been kind of hectic here with not a lot of scrapping going on. I have been having a fortnight where I feel like I am running around in circles. Hubbie is still searching for a full-time job, 6 months after the company he was working for was sold. So he is home 24/7 right now. My son Mitchell, had his last day at his current school last week after the final straw of the bullying his has been experiencing came to an end with a deep laceration to his face and 6 stitches later. So have been trying to organize schooling from home for him. And soon his best friend who is also going through 'teen stuff' with her parents may be coming to board here for a while.
So my normally quiet days sitting in my pj's until lunch time at my craft desk have pretty much come to a stop! But saying that, I believe everything happens for a reason and I think all these things have somehow brought us all closer and believe these 'low' times are good to be reminded of what you do have and not to take things for granted.
So anyway..scrap stuff. A new sketch has just gone up at Keeping The Best and this is my take on it...
And this is the sketch which I turned on it's side....
I have used the latest 'Madame Carousel' kit from Paper Stories to create my page, along with this layout which I haven't shared here yet, just on the PS blog..
So that's it for me today =)
Take care, G xox
It really upsets me to hear of the bullying, three of my grandchildren have been bullied in Year 7 - first year of high school - it does pass with some kids but unfortunately not with others.
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely stunning! I'm sorry to hear about such terrible bullying. It's appalling that it came to that! :(
ReplyDeletewow Georgia first let me say how absolutely stunning your 2 layouts are!! the first one looks as if it were digital even though I know its not. its just so perfect!!
ReplyDeleteregarding the bulling I'm so surprised that the other kids don't get kicked out of that school. I'm always amazed how they keep the bullies in the schools and let the good kids slip away. No common sense even though schools have this policy of Zero tolerance.
stunning LOs, Georgia! - as always! love all the contrast and colors!
ReplyDeleteI hope that everything in your live will settle very soon - mostly I hope that you DH will find some really good job very soon. it breaks my heart hearing what your son went through. I hope that this will be the end of his trouble. I don't see a problem with home schooling if that will keep him away from that environment. take care! hugs ♥
hooley dooley Georgia that first one is to die for, I am totally in love with it!!!!! wowowoowwoow, hopingthings settle for your son soon!
ReplyDeletevery stylish! The second work is great!
ReplyDeleteFAR OUT! What is this world coming to that's Fully RIDICULOUS & DREADFUL what has happen to your boy.... I REALLY hope that the other's involved have been dealt with & here's hoping NO MORE bullying for him!! It must be REALLY hard for you & hubby as parents to be going through this with your boy....
ReplyDeleteON the scrap side 2 TOTALLY AMAZING layouts G!!
Gorgeous layouts Georgia it is good to see you are still creating such beautiful layouts in such trying times, i guess it is a good therapy. I cannot stand bullying at all and i hope everything works out for you all in the end. Chin up and all the best :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layouts Georgia. My son had the same bullying experience in Year 7. He too ended up with stitches after a kid slammed the locker door into his head. The kid got 2 day suspension and spent them at the skate park. Not much of a punishment. The deputy principal talked to us and was going to do all this stuff but it never happened. We moved our son to a private school and he hasn't looked back. At least there they have the power to expel bullies. Not that my son has experienced it there.
ReplyDeletewow! I just love your work with color! sorry to hear about your son's hard times... hope from home he will be better
ReplyDeletetotally amazing, those colors are sensational ... sorry to hear of your troubles sometimes life is very difficult . just keep looking toward the light .... big hugz to you Georgia .
ReplyDeleteHI Georgia, I am so sorry to read about your son... I hope you all get through this together and become better not bitter.. we go through seasons in life and I hope you can look back on this one and know you all grew together in it... and your layouts are marvellous.. I love how you do the grungy male layouts.. something I really struggle with.. and you know I love the second one which I saw on facebook.. really beautiful. love the design, love all the flowers... take care of yourselves.. and we have not had the sunshine here for a couple of days... mind you I am not complaining as last week we were surrounded by fires and smoke....
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the stitches... that is horrible...
ReplyDeleteI love love love love your lo's!!! They are absolutely GORGEOUS!! I loveeeeeeeeeee the colors, the layers, the paint... and LOVING that TV on the first one!!!!!
Wow Georgia, that is just aweful about your son. Sounds like your plate is full right now with everything that's going on. Hope hubby finds a job soon.
ReplyDeleteYour lo's are just fabulous as always!
My prayers are with you and your family! :)
You did show us beautiful project today /you are so talented/ but I have to admit the story about your son is so disturbing. I have no idea why he has to leave school and not those indyviduals who harmed him.I`m so sorry about it. I hear more and more stories like this one and have no idea how would I reacted.Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia, I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I hate that he's having to deal with bullies...it's just horrible. You are such a great mother, and you're doing what is best for him. I can't fathom why people are so mean to others for no reason. It's just unbelievable. Your layout is amazing, as always...I love how you always make messy look amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour pages are amazing Georgia, so bold and exciting and they always make a 'statement'...love your work. Hope life throws you and your family some 'good stuff' soon, especially your son, my heart hurts for him. xx

the bad period in life will be replaced on positive soon! forces to you, Georgia!
ReplyDeleteyour layouts are fine, I am enamoured of TV)) scrap became more romantically - flower))
Oh wow ! Your layouts rock !
ReplyDeleteGeorgia your pages are stunning as always but wow, you have brought tears to my eyes. I know you sent me a gorgeous email when I spoke about my son being bullied and your boy comes into my thoughts all of the time as we still go through little periods of bullying. I am so so sorry he has had to endure what he has and it makes me angry that we have to take our kids out of school rather than the bully get taken out of the school itself step up and take action.
ReplyDeleteWhen is this bullying going to stop? I don't know how we can educate these children. I actually had a conversation a few days ago with somebody and said I would just be devastated if I ever found out one of my children were a bully. What do these parents think or do??
I hope it works out for you and that you can stay strong, I know how much it hurts and I have not quite had the experience you have.
xx
Both layouts are stunning, Georgia!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the one for Keeping the Best...it just looks so awesome & so cool (love how you've got your pic like it's on that awesome little TV!)
So sorry to hear about the tough time your DS has been having with bullies at school...that is just awful & so so sad :( . No kid should have to endure that kind of thing. I hope things work out for all of you & you can get back to some kind of normality soon :)
I so love your take on the Keeping The Best Sketch. It has inspire me to use the sketch also. Love, love your masculine layouts...
ReplyDeleteOver and over, everywhere I read about the same thing about bullying. The good kids have to be taken out of school and the rotten eggs stay. Something is seriously wrong! Tough times with hubbs too. I hope things turn out for the better for you all soon. Sending you loving thoughts. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBoth these pages are seriously gorgeous with strong bold colours and the black to give extra umpff! The first one has all of your amazing touches of late and the second one is so beautiful without being frou-frou. Love them both very very much! Hugs,
