Paper Amo Guest Designer

Hi guys :)

A while back now, I was contacted by the lovely Anna from a little scrappy site based in Czechoslovakia called Paper Amo. They have just recently started and they have great sketch and color challenges, lots of inspiration from designers around the world and even a little e-store. So when I was asked to be a guest designer this month, of course I said yes!

I have created a layout created for the occasion and I also have a short interview over on their blog - (I think a little of it might have gone astray from translation but you get the jist of it lol) . I am just going to leave you with a sneak peak and if you would like to see the whole project, pop on over there and have a look around :)

Something...Out Of The Ordinary!!

Hey guys :) Firstly I want to say thank you to all the wonderful ladies that left me a congratulations comment for my new DT. You guys rock :)

Ok, down to business. I have something a little unusual to share. Every now and again I create something which doesn't fall into the scrapbooking category and can be quite out there. More often that not, these never get seen by anyone who doesn't enter my craft room :)

But today I feel brave so I shall share. This canvas is called 'This Heart' and is about vulnerability  ,the very reason why I don't show more of this type of thing. In many ways, this kind of work is exposing more of yourself ( in a metaphorical way of course lol) than any scrapbook layout even with lengthy journalling...

I don't know if anyone is interested in the 'process' so you can skip all this bit if you like. The title comes from one point of inspiration, which were the lyrics to a song called 'This Heart' by Mary Lambert. Which is quite soft and melancholy. The other, is the opposite, taken from imagery from the film clip and song, First Of The Year by Skillrex. I love how the film clip is totally entwined in the song, which is what I wanted to achieve. Yes my taste in music is as varied as my creations :)

It is a 12 x 12 canvas which I painted using gesso, acrylic paint and coffee ( yes coffee!)...

My chest features some vintage watch parts I purchased from the UK. Here I am showing you my 'inner workings' and of course exposing my heart.

I thought about adding other techniques and embellishments to this. But felt like I really wanted everything that was on it to have some sort of relevancy.

So what do you think? Pretty weird hey :)

And last but not least. Paperhaus are having a publication call for their summer issue. A great opportunity to have your work featured along side some AMAZING scrappers and see your work in this gorgeous publication....

Something just a little...OK A LOT...exciting!!!

Hi all :)
So I am going to get right to the chase
before I burst into another dance around my craft room
( there has been several, every time I think about it actually lol)

Yep, third row down, left hand side, that's me.....*squeal*

I am bursting to tell you that I have been invited to join this incredible line up of world class designers to be on Ingvild Bolme's new design team creating with her incredible products released through Prima Marketing
It only takes a quick flick through my blog to figure out how crazy I am about these products which makes this design team even more special than the obvious!!

The last four design team members, myself included, have just been announced on Ingvild's blog. There is some amazing talent on this team and all their incredible work is there for you to drool over, you can check it out here.

This layout features one of my all time favorite embellishments... EVER.

Prima BAP

Hello Hello :) Well, it's saturday night here and I guess I should be doing something exciting and/or social, instead I am in my pj's shuffling scrappy stuff around my desk. And I have to admit quite happy doing so. Anyone else becoming a recluse with their scrap supplies?

So anyway, popping in to share a layout I have done for the April Prima BAP. Really loved this sketch, kind of grungy so it really jumped out at me...

So I brought some Mica flakes this week and was staring at them intently waiting for them to tell me what to do with them. When it occurred to me how cool they would look like little rust flakes falling from a rusty hinge.

Darling husband and hoarder of all things remotely blokey didn't have one after I trashed searched his shed. So...I drove an hour to our local refuse centre, spent another hour sifting through large piles of junk, covered head to toe in dirt and paid $2 for found rusty hinge, before driving the hour back home again.

When recounting my day to hubbie and the look on his face at the length I went to get this damn hinge for a layout...well I thought 'Unhinged' would make a perfect title!!

Follow The White Rabbit Blog Hop

Happy Easter and welcome to the Easter blog hop!

Today is the day when we tumble down the rabbit's hole and hop after the White Rabbit. The rabbit hops from blog to blog, from country to country all around the cyber scrapbooking world!
Although the countries and styles vary and designers participating had a free choice what to create for the hop, the pieces of art have all something in common. If you're familiar with Alice in Wonderland, you might remember that the White Rabbit, which Alice followed and found the Wonderland, had a pocket watch. So in this hop the common theme is the time piece. You can find an interpretation or a way to incorporate a clock in every creation! Inspiring, right?

So please hop along and remember to leave a comment at every stage! That way you ensure as many tickets for the raffle as possible. You'll have just a week to participate (to April 8th at noon GMT) for the giveaway put together from donations from 7 Dots Studio, BadgesFolie, Garn&Mehr, Stromsvigt and Wycinanka.

So enjoy the hop and find the inspiring Wonderland of scrapbooking!

So this is my creation, an altered notebook ( yeah sorry, another one! lol) using some left overs from Paper Stories 'Love Of A Lifetime' kit along with some trinkets and Prima Marketing flowers from my stash. A little more feminine in style than I normally do but I really enjoyed creating it....

And if you want to join in on this little blog hop, check out some AMAZING scrappers and maybe win some prizes along the way, here the blog list...

Paper Stories April Challenge & Sketchabilities

Hey guys :)

Some quick shares for you today. First up, the new sketch challenge has just gone up at the Paper Stories blog and it is another gorgeous one created by the talented Em Stafrace. So here is my take using lots of the gorgeous new Prima Lyric range that just arrived in store this week....

This is the sketch..

And the second one I did last night is for Sketchabilites, sketch #88. I created the blue grey background paper myself using Luminarte Twinkling H20 watercolor paints which are coming to the Paper Stories store soon. AND I actually video taped how I did it. I just need to master my video editing software and I'll get that up on the Paper Stories blog...

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to check back later tonight as I have a blog hop coming up with some really awesome prizes!!
