Keeping The Best #46

Hi all =) I hope everyone out in blogland is doing well and if your in Australia, lapping up some of summer sunshine that we have been having.

Life has been kind of hectic here with not a lot of scrapping going on. I have been having a fortnight where I feel like I am running around in circles. Hubbie is still searching for a full-time job, 6 months after the company he was working for was sold. So he is home 24/7 right now. My son Mitchell, had his last day at his current school last week after the final straw of the bullying his has been experiencing came to an end with a deep laceration to his face and 6 stitches later. So have been trying to organize schooling from home for him. And soon his best friend who is also going through 'teen stuff' with her parents may be coming to board here for a while.

So my normally quiet days sitting in my pj's until lunch time at my craft desk have pretty much come to a stop! But saying that, I believe everything happens for a reason and I think all these things have somehow brought us all closer and believe these 'low' times are good to be reminded of what you do have and not to take things for granted.

So anyway..scrap stuff. A new sketch has just gone up at Keeping The Best and this is my take on it...

And this is the sketch which I turned on it's side....

I have used the latest 'Madame Carousel' kit from Paper Stories to create my page, along with this layout which I haven't shared here yet, just on the PS blog..

So that's it for me today =)
Take care, G xox

Keeping The Best Sketch #45

Morning all =) Yes another post, 3 days in a row...this must be a record for me!! And today, the reason is another fabulous sketch @ Keeping The Best. My DT layout, was a bit of a salvage operation. I ordered these papers from Poland 3 months ago ( no exaggeration) and had lost all hope of receiving them until Friday when they finally showed up. I was soooo excited only to find the box was pretty much trashed and the fat pigeon that delivered them had pretty much warped the 12 x 12 papers to oblivion. So I salvaged what I could, the strips on the side of this sketch were perfect to try and use up the non crushed bits and the main paper is a Crate Paper I had in my store. Hence the title 'Keep Calm & Start Counting' lol....

And the sketch...

Looking forward to seeing so fabulous entries for this one!

Just Because....

Hey girls =) My house is soooo quite right now, Hubbie is having a nanna nap and my boy is out for the day so I am sitting here wasting time surfing the net. I thought I might as well drop by for a share of a project I did this weekend.

Last week I had to do some projects for something coming up next year. One of them being OTP. And well, I just don't do OTP. Four mini albums later, I got something that I liked. But have since decided that I really need to branch out a bit and practice so that I don't go into a blind panic next time I have to do one. So...perfectly timed I had some Sodalicious 6 x 6 This Is It paper packs arrive for the store on Friday and this is what I created with one....

Still looking a bit empty as I have yet to decide what photos I want to use. I really love the black and white with the pop of color in these papers, right up my alley =)

Hope everyone has had an awesome weekend too and got a bit of craft time in =)

Skissedilla Sketch Challenge

Heya girls =) I FINALLY had a few hours just to sit down and scrap something for myself today. It was so nice and it felt like ages since I've had the time to do something other than 'work' scrapping. So I decided to play along with the very talented girls at Skissedilla, this is for sketch #179.

Thanks for stopping by =)

Once Upon A Sketch & GDT @ Stuck Sketches

Wow, I'm doing a blog post two days in a row, maybe I am starting to catch up!
So I am here to share two fabulous challenges, the first for Once Upon A Sketch!
We would like you to create a layout based on this quote. You can interpret it ANY way you like:

As well as use one of Nadia's amazing sketches:

You have up until Oct 30th to get your entries in with lots of gorgeous prizes up for grabs and a chance to be our Guest Designer @ Once Upon A Sketch!
So here is my take on the challenge:

I have some hidden journalling on the tag behind my photo

I have used the latest kit, 'Gone Postal' from my store for this layout...

And also this month I have been invited to be Guest Designer for the month of October at the awesome sketch blog, Stuck Sketches. This is the current sketch, you have up until the 15th to get your entry in!

And this is my interpretation using the gorgeous new 7 Dots Studio, Domestic Goddess range that I won in one of their comps last month...

Hope to see some gorgeosu entries for both these challenges!
Have a great week =)
