Hey hey =) Hope everyone out in blog land is doing well!! Time for another challenge at Bird Is The Word, it feels like the last fortnight has only been a few days. This year seems to be going at a flying speed! So anyway, you girls know the drill, this fortnights word is 'Spirit' and this is my creation....
My 'baby' in this photo will be turning 15 on Sunday. It is kind of scary to think that in 3 years he will officially an 'adult'. I often joke with him that it is going to be a disaster when he moves out. Being my only biological child, he gets everything done for him. He has no idea how to make a bed, put a load of washing on or cook anything but noodles. Part of me kind of looks forward to those calls once he is on his own asking me how to do things and having to do the odd food run so he doesn't forget about me completely!!
So anyway, I hope you all join in with this fortnight's challenge. My store is sponsoring again this time around with a $20 voucher up for grabs!!!

I love the distressed paper that fits so smoothly into the background. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteWowwwwwwwww! This is GORGEOUS!!! LOVING the distressing, the colors, the paper strips and loveeeeeeeeee that title!!!!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia your page is fantastic I love the round fphoto and the details stripes
ReplyDeleteI loved this LO as soon as I saw it. with the lovely 7 dots papers. What I love is how you used the word. It reminded me of the post about your son not long ago. My son is 11 and going to middle school and He will be the youngest of the 3 grades there and of course I worry like every mother does about what happened to your son and many other things. I'm glad he has a wonderful mom to support him. And sometimes even if they are adults they don't leave the house too soon!!
ReplyDeleteIt's just amazing! And your son looks great!
ReplyDeleteFabulous layout! Love the title and the way you used the word.Love the edging and all the distressing. Really love the circle photo and how it has been partly covered but stands out with the black ring around it. It's a very emotive layout. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic! I like your composition and balance in it. Interesting, eye catching details too!
ReplyDeleteGreat boy LO....heartfelt title- totally get it - we all worry about our kids, that's for sure...& News Flash...he'll always be your boy & you'll always, always worry....serious relationship breakups were the ones I really, really felt for my 2...[just at the stage where they'd discovered alcohol, too:(:(] that was hard yakka....but they get through it & I think it's NICE to be there for them. Always:)):)
ReplyDeleteAnd your scrapping, as always, is perfect!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing boy lay-out! I really love the mix of deep colours and the artsy feel to this.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love that quote and the papers and design and circular photo. Fabulous. But, you have to teach him to do some things or your future daughter-in-law will not be happy....lol.
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks awesome! Love the design and the way you krinled up the outer edges of your paper....super cool!
ReplyDeleteoh WOW, really love this one - great design and masculine elements. Perfect for your 15 year old!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Love your paintwork and the colour palette used. What an amazing layout, Georgia!
ReplyDeleteThis layout is gorgeous! Love all the distressing and the colors you used. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteoh wow I love the technological look... it is perfect - as always
ReplyDeletethis i s just PERFECT Georgia, the right amount of grunge the right amount of everything
ReplyDeleteGeorgia, first off your layout is a stunning piece of masculinity! LOVE your style...
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I do need to scold a bit. I know he's your baby...your one and only. But for the sake of his future partner, PLEASE...teach him NOW to make a bed, cook, etc...my husband's mom used to not allow him to make his bed or clean his room because SHE wanted to do it. She always did all of his laundry. So when I "GOT" him, I had an overgrown boy who didn't know how to do anything for himself, lol!! ANd how I have CURSED my MIL for this!! I've spent the last five years slowly working on teaching him to pick up after himself...even though I understand it's not his fault how he was raised. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my husband and wouldn't "change" him for the world...but really? His mom should have been teaching him these things, not me LOL...
So for all the lucky prospects for your boy...show him how to throw a load of clothes in the wash. That way you'll gain a beautiful new daughter who adores you...not one who wants to punch you in the face every times she sees you LOL!!!!! (not that that's how I feel about MY MIL or anything ;)...)
xErin
Lol Erin you crack me up!! I would totally agree if I didn't have a husband exactly the same as yours! The difference is he grew up in a boarding school from the age 12 and knows full well how to pick up after himself and do household chores, he just chooses not to! Teaching Mitch to do things..yes I know I should but being a perfectionist + a control freak and having a son with the attention span of a goldfish, it's going to be an uphill battle!! And you know what, despite my lack of 'domestic training' with him, he still out does hubby in the tidy stakes lol! xox
DeleteAwesome page Georgia!! Happy Bday to ur 'baby'!! I hope the store is going well for u XX
ReplyDeleteGeorgia...love your page...really liked the old rustic look you have given to your page...I always loved the journaling you do and how you put your pictures is stunning!!
