Something SUPER SUPER exciting...

So firstly a huge thank you to those that left me a message regarding my last post. Your support and kindness means the world! So anyway those that drop by here now and again may have noticed I have been a bit MIA for the past 6 weeks and now I can FINALLY tell you why..

Wondering what this is? This is the header to my new store...www.paperstories.com.au

I will be specializing in page kits and scrapbooking kits. BUT unlike most kit clubs, their is no subscription, no waiting for release dates, no ending up with kits that aren't 'you'. We will have kits catering for the floral, girlie, romantic lovers with ranges such as Prima, Glitz and Graphic 45. As well as kits for the classic, everyday or mixed media loving scrapper with ranges such as Basic Grey, Amercian Crafts, Echo Park & Studio Calico. Plus ready to go page kits for 2-3 pages with everything you need including instructions! AND - A selected range of all latest release products and lust have items of a regular scrapbook store. Sound good? So we have the Graphic 45 Ladies Diary Kit......

I totally feel in love with this range the minute I saw it and knew I would have to do a kit with it..

Next up is the Basic Grey Clippings kit which has only just arrived.....

I think this range has to be my all time favorite range from Basic Grey. I am itching to start scrapping with it on the weekend!! Our next kit is the Prima Doodle Deux page kit that comes with instructions to complete two pages. It is awesome value at $24.95 as it also comes with a background stamp and Prima stamp set. How good is that!

Bird Is The Word 'Reach' Challenge

Hey girls =) The past fortnight has gone so quickly and already it's time for another challenge at Bird Is The Word. This time around the challenge is to use the word 'reach' somewhere on your layout. And here is my take on it...

This was a somewhat emotional layout for me, so much of what I feel right now was poured into it, I have no objectivity in a scrap sense if it turned out ok or not ( I am thinking not).  I so wanted to add journalling to this but I just had so much I wanted to say that I didn't know where to start.

This is Mitch, my one and only biological 'baby' ( almost 15) who has had a really rough year at school. With the last few months being particularly tough for him. As adults we have the luxury of being able to distance ourselves from people that are cruel. In high school there is no such luxury. Can you imagine being in a workplace and having to spend eight hours a day around people that called you the most hurtful names, that made you feel worthless, that threatened and inflicted physical violence. And having to do that day after day? It just wouldn't happen would it? But in schools it is different and as I parent I feel so helpless to stop it. My heart breaks for him and what he goes through. Right now I just wish he could just skip that last year and a half and get to the place outside those walls and discover that people generally don't act like animals towards each other. To be free and not have to define himself by the hateful words of others. I wish I had that fast forward button so much!

So anyway...sorry for the doom & gloom. I will be back later in the week with some exciting news to share xox

Bird Is The Word 'Beyond' Challenge

Evening girls =) Back again with yet another awesome challenge for you all. This time it is for Bird Is The Word and this fortnight's challenge is to use the word 'Beyond' somewhere on your layout. I have to admit this one had me stumped for a while. Every time I thought of that word I had flash backs to the time when Mitchell was younger and had a talking Buzz Lightyear toy that drove me crazy! After sifting through my photos, I realized the uncanny way that there seems to be all these random dogs in most of his recent photos. And we don't even own one. He is like a magnet for them, you leave him outside a shop for 5 minutes and he has his own pack by the time I get back. So I used that theme for my layout....

Have an awesome week and thanks for looking!

Once Upon A Sketch July Challenge

It's that exciting time again, a new month, new challenges and time for the new sketch challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. This month we have a fantastic new design team starting, so lots of fresh and innovative inspiration for everyone. And of course, I feel so honored and privileged to be staying on for another term at OUAS. YAY! OUAS is, and always be very close to my heart, even though it wasn't my first DT position, it will always feel like it to me. It is everything a challenge site should be and more!

So with that..the new challenge. The theme this month is FRIENDS! As well as using one of Nadia's gorgeous sketches....

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Friend" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

And here is my take:

And here is the sketch:

You may recognize the gorgeous girl in this photo, it is Nadia Cannizzo from OUAS. I am not someone who is really openly emotional about friendship/relationships and I think those that are especially important to me I tend to be very protective of. So I don't often say how I feel, especially not in a public way. But can tell you that my life is a little better for knowing Nadia and can't imagine a week going by without speaking to her. One of the many reasons OUAS is so dear to me as it gave me the opportunity to get to know her. This layout was a present for her b'day. And she sent me a beautiful handmade card and stunning canvas for mine ( our birthdays are just a week apart). Ok enough of the soppy stuff...

Up for grabs this month is our usual TON...and I mean TON of prizes and the opportunity to come back as our Guest Designer!

I look forward to seeing what you all create and I hope you head on over to OUAS and show some support for our amazing new DT. Take care everyone xox
