Some More Bo Bunny Goodness...

Morning ladies =) Hope everyone has had an awesome weekend. Mine was quiet as always =) Just stopping by to share another layout that I have created for Sassy Scrapper using the gorgeous new Bo Bunny Country Garden range...

Also just delivered to my door from Sassy Scrappers, a brand new Sizzix Big Shot!! YAY! My first die cut machine. I have always wanted one but hesitated as they looked complicated and I am useless with gadgets. I was sooo wrong. They are so easy to use and I am just so thrilled with it. You can check them out here..

Also Olga has just got in some fabulous new My Favourite Things Die Cuts, including doilies and some gorgeous flowers. I can't wait to start creating with them =)

Bird Is The Word Charming Challenge

Hey Girls! Dropping in for a quick share of something I created yesterday for the current 'Charm' challenge at Bird Is The Word. So you may have noticed I have really been enjoying exploring my grungy side of late and thought I would continue my journey with some 7 Dots Studio papers by Anna Dabrowska. As soon as I saw these papers I was intrigued. However I never purchased them up until now as I wanted to be confident that I could use them incorporting my own style without them looking like a Finnabair scrap lift!

"Prince Charming"

So first off I banned the use of Glimmer Mist,  as much as these papers scream for it! And thought about what my 'trademarks' are for scrapping. Which would probably be frames so focused on that!

As there is quite a lot going on with the background I kept my composition really simple and centered.

And if you are wondering who this little man is, it's my dad. The photo is not the best quality, well my Dad is 82 so this photo has to be about 75+ years old! To me it just screamed 'charming' and was the first photo I thought of for this challenge...

I always have fun creating but something about this type of layout I just really loved doing. If you had walked into my craft room you would have seen me with a stupid grin on my face like a crazy person while doing this page...weird I know! So I think you may see more of this style to come....Anyway, thanks for looking girls, hope everyone has an awesome weekend xox

Once Upon A Sketch March 15th Challenge

I can't believe we are half way through the month already! Which means...time for another awesome challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch. As usual lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs and the chance to be our guest designer! So the challenge along with one of Nadia's gorgeous sketches is our journalling criteria..

   Finish this line "I miss...".
Tell us about someone you are missing right now and why. Your journalling can be as long or as little as you like, but we want to hear all about someone you are missing!

Ideas for journalling: missing time alone with your partner, missing your old self, missing your children because they are off to school, university or living away from you, missing your children being young, missing a friend you have not seen in a while, someone in another country, someone that has passed away, a mentor whose advice you could use, a relative you wish you lived closer to, someone you regret having an argument with, missing a pet

And here is my take...

I have some private hidden journalling on some tags behind my photo

And Nadia's sketch...

I hope you head on over to OUAS to check out all the amazing DT members inspirational layouts and have time to enter this brilliant challenge..

Glitz Design March Challenge

Afternoon girls =) I hope everyone has had a fabulous weekend and found some creative time in there as well! I don't know about anyone else but I love this time of year when all the new CHA ranges start rolling in and I feel totally spoilt for choice. On Friday, all my new Glitz Design ranges arrived and OMG, they are just as I had hoped, AMAZING! I couldn't help but want to start a layout straight away with my favorite line, Happy Travels and what better reason, than for a Glitz Design challenge! The challenge for March is to incorporate text into your layout. I have done this with a few of their gorgeous paper layers.

Hope everyone has an awesome week. TFL xox

Bo Bunny Step-By-Step

Hi girls, back again =) Just wanted to share that my first ever step-by-step tutorials has just gone live at the Sassy Scrapper blog. This is a basic tutorial on how to add dimension to your projects. Hope you head on over and while there check out our monthly sketch challenge! xox

Random (aka Babble) Thought Of The Day

Now I don't often share much about my self or my thoughts on my blog but am really interested in knowing if I am the only one that feels this way. So after a few discussions on the topic within scrapping circles and also hitting my one year scrapaversary, I have been giving quite a lot of thought to the reasons why I scrap. Very philosophical of me isn't it? lol. For me, it started as a wedding album, then the baby photos, done the special events and the I love you's. And now I am just up to the pretty pictures. And I still feel like I have to hide behind the farce of 'preserving memories'. Now really, if it was just about that, I could get a $4 notebook from Coles, reveal my deepest most thoughts and feeling along with some photos for good measure, just to share with my family. But I don't. Why? Because that just wouldn't be fun would it? But somehow as women, we have it socially ingrained in us, that once we marry and give birth, everything there after has to have a 'greater purpose'. Why can't we just say, "Yes I spent thousands of $$'s per year on scrap supplies simply because I WANT to"....

For me, I have a son. Can I picture him at my age pouring over my pages thinking how much he was/is loved? Well, no. I'm 99.9% sure he is heterosexual and his indifference to my scrapping I am sure will be an on going process. And really I think if I have done a half decent job as a parent he shouldn't need physical proof of just how special he is. I am pretty sure that my pages will end up boxed and shipped to the nursing home along with my wrinkly ass in 40 years time, never to be seen again. So with that I am coming out of the scrap closet and admitting...

I scrap because I LOVE it. I share my pages publicly as it is a good feeling when some tells you they like what you have created. I enter challenges as it's fun and yes I am a little competitive. I get a thrill out of seeing work published as it makes me feel like I am ok at something. So does this make me shallow? A bad person? I don't think so. But just being able to say all that makes me feel better =)

Ok I am getting off my proverbial soap box now and finding something constructive to do.

Happy creating

Getting on my Grunge....

Hey girls =) Hope everyone is having a fabulous creative week. I have been having lots of fun exploring the world of grunge again and created a layout for White With One, Frosted Designs & Scrap For Help. The challenge at White With One is to use white + kraft + layering.

The challenge at Frosted Designs is to incorporate numbers. I have done this with several tags, heat embossed chipboard numbers, a number stamp, Tim Holtz clock stamp & Graphic 45 clock chipboard button.

The challenge at Scrap For Help is to use cardboard which I have layered under my chipboard at the bottom of my layout.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all my followers for your support and your beautiful comments, they really make my day. TFL xox
